If you have a passion for allowing nature to feed your imagination with ideas, I think you will enjoy this article about floral art.

The Magic Of Tropical Flowers And Floral Art

Imagine that you can control the mood in your home. The emotions that flowers impart are expressed within a painting. Select a painting and bring the mood you desire to any area in your house or office.

The positive expression of tropical flowers and floral art will transform a room. The color of flowers has the power to effortlessly change a mood. A red rose immediately connotes the feeling of love, a yellow daisy brings a joy, a lilac or lavender offers serenity and healing. Tropical flowers can add an exotic quality that is almost magical. Tropical flower art has the added benefit of transmitting the magical qualities of flowers without the time it takes to care and arrange cut flowers.

Paintings of tropical flowers can be realistic, or painted with an impressionistic style like that of Claude Monet. We’ve noticed that in many of our paintings of Hawaiian flowers, the size of the flower can have an abstract or even surreal quality.

tropical plants abstract paintingIn the office, a company may want to convey a “can-do” feeling coupled with prosperity. In that scenario, an abstract painting with green plant-like colors would be a consideration.

Floral art can appear in many variations of color, size, and groupings. You can decide what type of tropical flower art best serves your purpose.

Perhaps you want a conversation starter in a meeting room or entertaining area, or to be surrounded by the grace and elegance of pink bougainvillea petals as you prepare family meals in your kitchen.

What Are Giclee Art Prints?

Giclee art print reproduction of the original painting on canvas
Paradise by Thomas Deir

At Thomas Deir Studios we value Giclee art prints utilize the process of high quality reproductions on canvas to reproduce original paintings on canvas.

We found an excellent article to explain what are Giclee art prints and invited the author, Bob Carter, to post it here on our blog. His article is below.

What Exactly Are Giclee Art Prints And Just How Will They Vary From Regular Art Prints And Posters?

Giclee art prints are top-quality reproductions. They are typically printed from a high resolution image with high-finish ink jet pigment printing on either an archival photo paper or direct to canvas. This process creates museum-quality reproductions that can last for a century under glass. Modern technology allows individual Giclee reproductions to print – eliminating the necessity to print large quantities at a certain size. This is a great benefit for the artists and buyers.

The combined effect of high resolution image and high-finish pigment produces a more eye-appealing and permanent reproduction than regular four-color process art prints or posters. Regular prints and posters fade and suffer color loss.

The word “Giclee” [pronounced zhee-clay] develops from a French word meaning “to squirt”, which is what an inkjet printer does if this produces a picture onto paper. High definition images on photo taking paper produced by an inkjet printer are known as an electronic pigment print.

To simplify this technical jargon and distinguish these top end reproductions from regular prints and posters, the word “Giclee” was created to explain them. Since giclee prints are located in lots of museums of art, the terms “giclee art prints” and “museum art prints” are often used interchangeably.

What’s The Distinction Between Giclee Art Prints and Regular Prints and Posters?

Giclee prints are produced on the top quality archival or photo taking paper utilizing a high-finish premium inkjet printer. They’re created individually creating a wealthy, refined picture of museum quality that can last for a century under glass.

Regular prints and posters that you just see on the web and in a few stores use less costly paper and so are produced in mass amounts. They are “placed out”, usually in levels of 10,000 or maybe more pieces per run. Several of these prints are available in China and go on for about 5 years, and then associated with feelings. Turn yellow in addition to their colors disappear.

As you grow into bigger size of 16″ x 20″ or greater, you’ll be able to really start to see the improvement in quality between giclee and regular prints and posters. Far, our eyes atone for this; however, if you move closer and do a comparison along, you’ll be able to instantly start to see the magnificent brilliance from the giclee. Really, if you look carefully inside a regular print or poster, you will notice that the appearance is blurred and detail sheds. Whereas a giclee print unveils a beautiful amount of detail, similar to what hi-def photograph.

So Why Giclee Prints Do Are More Expensive Than Regular Prints and Posters?

Giclee prints are more expensive than regular prints and posters due to how they are created. Giclee prints are created individually manually, while using finest inkjet ink jet printers and quality high-definition photo taking paper. Regular art prints and posters are mass created using machines that cut image after image on cheap paper that starts to deteriorate in five years or less.

Who’re Giclee Prints For?

Giclee prints are for those who have a discerning eye who value art work and museum quality craftsmanship. They provide vibrancy and enchantment for life, whether put into your beautiful home or professional office. Individuals who own giclee art prints enjoy their exquisite beauty and wealthy detail.

Art Changing The World

As a Hawaii artist, I see art changing the world. I’ve learned that art is like an attitude. Positive or negative message, art can have an effect on people.

Being an artist, working in the field of art, has taught me to appreciate beauty and the positive things in life. I realize that every day we have a choice to be positive or negative. How we react, especially to undesirable conditions, is a choice.

Art Changing the World Is Like an Attitude

The Earth seen from Apollo 17

Art, like attitude, can be negative or positive. For example, there are songs common in punk rock and rap music that choose to be negative. They are hateful, degrading, insensitive and disrespectful. Negative art affects the human condition in a very powerful way resulting in violence, despair, destruction and pain. In this regard, art changing the world may not be a benefit.

Attitude is a choice we make every day. I’ve noticed that unhappy, negative people are generally insensitive, selfish, and disrespectful. I’ve also noticed that the happy positive people are sensitive, grateful, and respectful.

The world is full of good and bad, positive and negative, love and hate. We’ve all seen people, know people, even been people who have been negative. When you think about it, it’s easy to be negative. It’s easy to be selfish, insensitive, and disrespectful. It’s easy to think of yourself. It is much harder to be positive. Positive art can be the vehicle for art changing the world and providing beneficial outcomes for individuals.

Art Changing The World Has Taught Me Gratitude

As I developed as an artist, it seemed that I attracted people who were sensitive. I started to see that my clients and fans, many who became friends, were basically happy people. And I felt a strong sense of gratitude for having these kinds of people around me. When a client is sensitive they seem to appreciate the artwork more and on a deeper level they “feel” the art. Compassion, respect, forgiveness, kindness and humility all require sensitivity.

Thinking of others and helping others requires more thought and time. The beautiful thing about the choice is the reward, or the result. When making a decision, always think about the result. A negative decision will inevitably result with feelings of guilt, anger, anxiety, regret and low self-esteem. Choosing to be positive, although harder to do, always results in gratitude. Gratitude is the key to happiness. Having the discipline to be positive is the key to personal success.

The Art of Changing the World

In an earlier discussion I was said art affects the heart and can move out towards behavior. Art can change the world, it can move from the inward man to the outward. That is why we titled this blog “artheartheart” (art-the-earth-heart).

Let’s consider our time here on earth as a canvas to be painted. It may seem overwhelming at first. If we start with small brushstrokes we develop control and soon the canvas becomes art. We can change the world simply by being thankful.

What are your thoughts about art changing the world? Please feel free to leave your comments and share this with your friends.

I am off to create artwork. Art change the world!
